English Seminar in SS 2004
"Presenting Scientific Results in English"

Objectives:
To learn how to understand and present scientific subjects in EnglishEach lecture (ca. 15-20mins) will be followed by general discussion
Each student should have the opportunity to give a presentation in English
The main focus will be on all areas of Chemistry and Biochemistry,
although other interesting scientific subjects are not excluded
Students will be introduced to recent publications in eminent
scientific journals such as Nature, Science, Journal of the
American Chemical Society, Journal of Physical Chemistry,
Biochemistry, PNAS, EMBO J., TIBS and others
The class is recommended to students from the 5th semester
(Vordiplom) onwards up to and including PhD students and post-docs.
The class will be held once a week at a time to be
decided by the participants.
